Parents wishing to baptizetheir children
- Be a registered member of the parish. If you are not a registered member, you may do so by completing the Parish Registration Form.
- Complete the Baptism Registration Form.
- Attend a Baptismal class. Please call the Parish Office at 770-382-4549 to schedule a class.
- Provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate.

Godparent Requirements
Godparents ritualize and symbolize the presence of the community and the promise to support the newly baptized in a life of faith. Each child must have at least one Catholic godparent. Parents cannot be their own child’s godparents.
Godparents Must:- Have received the three sacraments of initiation, Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.
- Be 16 years of age or older.
- Be a member of the Catholic Church, canonically free to carry out this office.
- If married, the marriage must be in the Church
- Provide a letter of good standing from your home parish (also known as a sponsor/godparent verification letter - almost all parishes will know what this is!)

Baptism Preparation for Adults and Older Children

Children over the age of 7 must attend the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC) or the Rite of Christian Initiation for Teenagers (RCIT) program for one full year prior to celebrating the Sacrament of Baptism.
Catholic and non-Catholics who wish to learn more about the Catholic Church and receive the Sacraments of Initiation are invited to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) program.
