Here I am, send me.
Isaiah 6:8
Ordination to the priesthood is always a call and a gift from God. Christ reminded his Apostles that they needed to ask the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into the harvest.
By their consecration, bishops and priests act in the Person of Christ, representing Him as the Head of the Church. Deacons are ordained unto the ministry of service, but not to the priesthood. Deacons assist bishops and priests in the celebration of the sacred mysteries; they can baptize, witness marriage, preside over funerals and at other liturgical events.
Those interested in ministry as a priest, sister or brother should contact your parish priest. Candidates for the permanent diaconate are identified by the pastor and parish, and recommended to the Archbishop.
